Uncharted Series Gets Remastered, Surprising No One

Uncharted Series Gets Remastered, Surprising No One - 2015-06-05 12:40:29

This can be safely filed under, “Everyone saw this one coming miles and miles away.” A leak detailing the inevitable remastered collection of Uncharted first got confirmed by Naughty Dog writer/game director Neil Druckmann, then was officially acknowledged by Sony itself. So, for those that somehow did not expect Sony would take their biggest PS3 hit and put it back out on the PS4 to make even more money… your naïve expectations have just been shattered into millions of profitable little pieces.

As usual, the original developer—in this case, Naughty Dog—won’t be handling the remaster duties since they’re busy feverishly getting Uncharted 4 ready for its E3 demo. Bluepoint Games who has done many a remaster for Sony, including Shadow of the Colossus, is the usual steward for this latest effort. Additionally, Sony is pulling a Microsoft, in that pre-orders for the Nathan Drake Collection as it’s being called, will also net access to the Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End multi-player beta.

For long time PS3 owners, there’s pretty much no need to explain what the big deal is. For Xbox 360-only owners that might have switched over this generation to the PS4, now’s your chance to play one of the biggest exclusives on The Enemy’s console. If you’re in that boat, give it a spin; you might surprise yourself with how much you enjoy it.

The remastered collection is now set for an October 9

th

release in North America.
