Cliff Bleszinski Is Back With His New Game LawBreakers

Cliff Bleszinski is no stranger to mainstream gaming. While at Epic Games he worked on some of the biggest franchises at that company and most famously worked on Gears of War. Having left Epic in 2012, he has been working on his projects. Now his new studio Boss Key Productions and Nexon have announced LawBreakers.

Lawbreakers will be a free-to-play first-person shooter, set in a post-apocalyptic world. Taking place after an event known as “The Shattering”, an event that caused the moon to split. Players will choose a faction, the “Breakers” gangs born out of the turmoil or enforcers, upholding the law in this desolate world.

The game will be built around the concepts of “Gangs, Guns and Gravity”. As one would expect there will be the usual assortment of armaments, but in a unique move half the playable characters as female.

With so many games focusing on the male characters, it is nice to see a level of diversity. Especially with a free-to-play experience, it only helps to make the game more accessible to a wider audience. If this proves successful, I hope to see more titles picking up this concept.
