In a report by The New Yorker, it claimed that Hideo Kojima had left Konami for good early in the month of October. It seems Konami does not agree with these events; they are claiming he is merely on vacation and did not leave the company.
In an interview over at Tokyo Sports a spokesman for Konami says, “Currently, Kojima is a listed as a company employee [at Konami]. They go on to say “Currently, Kojima and the development team are finished developing Metal Gear Solid V and are taking a long time off from work.”
He goes on to say that “We’re not sure what kind of thing this was.” in reference to the farewell party that was thrown for Hideo Kojima.
For reference, in a tweet dated October 20th, writer Simon Parkin shared a picture from October 9th that shows farewell party for the Metal Gear Solid designer.

It may be a little while before we find the truth about what is going at Konami, but hopefully in the coming days this confusion regarding Hideo Kojima can be cleared up.
