Japanese Illustrator Noriyoshi Ohrai Has Passed Away 2

Noriyoshi Ohrai, a Japanese illustrator known for his renditions of the original Star Wars Trilogy in Japan, has passed away at the age of 79. He died at 11:35 on October 27th at Miyazaki Prefecture Kunitomi Hospital of pneumonia.

Noriyoshi Ohrai left a legacy of art, having worked on art for the Metal Gear series. Recently his work was seen in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots on the walls of the Eastern European church in Act 3. He also worked on many major creative works in Japan including poster art for The Godzilla series, The Road Warrior, Good Morning Vietnam, along with many other books and gaming projects. He was known to be a private individual with very little information about his personal life made public.
