Dead or Alive has always been a highly criticized title due to the ridiculous over-sexualization and gratuitous violence.
Now, after years of backlash, developer Koei Tecmo has decided not to bring Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 to the west. Thanks to Niche Gamer, fans can stop holding their breath for a western localization.
Fans asked Koei Tecmo on the official Dead or Alive Facebook page if they could expect to see the game come to the west and were met with ““We do not bring DOAX3 to the west and won’t have any plan change in the future.”
It appears that the events of the last couple of years regarding treatment of females in the gaming industry are what lead to this decision.
It is disappointing that a developer is fearing western backlash so much that long-time fans of the series have to suffer.
