No Assassin’s Creed This Year

Rumoured at first, but now confirmed by Ubisoft itself, there will be no new Assassin’s Creed game this year… no main series installment that is.

While Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: India and Russia are out and the film with Michael Fassbender is slated for a December release, we won’t get the likes of huge open-world historical playgrounds as we usually do, right next to the yearly release of Call of Duty.

Ubisoft is looking to step back and re-examine the brand to try and bring a better experience the next time around. The response they received after the release of Unity seemed to be something of a wakeup call for them. Hopefully we’ll get to see some major improvements on the brand since both Unity and Syndicate were critically panned and the former was almost unplayable at launch.

We’ll most likely have to wait until E3 2017 until we hear about the next installment.
