EA Confirms Mass Effect Andromeda Not Coming Until Q1 2017

Mass Effect Andromeda is a title shrouded in mystery. EA and Bioware have been very tight-lipped about what the game will involve, look like and release. It was expected to release in 2016, with many signs pointing to this concept, but it seems that people will need to wait a little longer to get their hands on the game.

In a recent interview with Morgan Stanley CFO of EA Blake Jorgensen outlined the EA release schedule by saying “We’ve got a great year ahead… we’ve got our Battlefield first-person shooter game coming in the third quarter, and our third-party title that Respawn, our partner, built, it’s called Titanfall, it’s the second title that they brought into that brand. Both of those are first-person shooters and will be targeted around the fast, action-driven shooter market, as well as the strategy-driven market in that quarter. We have all our sports games, we have our Mirror’s Edge runner game this first quarter, and then we have Mass Effect, which is a sci-fi action game, in our fourth quarter. So big year ahead and we’re pretty excited.”

Mass Effect is a beloved franchise, one that has proven how time and effort into a product show with the result. With this in mind, it ‘s nice to see EA and Bioware are not rushing it out to fans. With Andromeda signaling a new story arc and introducing a new part of the Mass Effect franchise, it has never been a better time to put the effort in and make a quality product. Hopefully, the work shows when the game finally reveals its self, but until then we will just have to wait a little longer.
