The developers behind the infamous WiiU title, Devil’s Third are opening a new studio in Vancouver.

Satoshi Kanematsu, CEO and Director at Valhalla Game Studios aim is to create new original content and games that will “rock your soul.” Run by former Tecmo staff, Kanematsu has worked on Monster Rancher and Rygar while Tomonobu Itagaki, President, CTO and Director at Valhalla has worked on Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive.

The company uses its own engine, RUNE, standing for Real Ultimate Ninja Engine to develop its own games. It was working with THQ to produce their first title, Devil’s Third that was originally planned for the PS3 and 360 but had since been redesigned for the WiiU. The title is now enjoying a high price and is circulating around on eBay.

Valhalla is currently working with Nexon to bring Devil’s Third Online to PC; it’s an expanded version of Devil’s Third’s multiplayer. It will go into beta testing later this year.

There’s no word yet on their next original title, but North American audiences can look forward to playing Devil’s Third Online’s beta in May and Canadians can be happy hear that another games developer is opening shop.
