Square Enix Makes Donation To Earthquake Relief Effort

Japanese developer and publisher Square Enix has made a considerable donation to help those affected by the recent earthquakes in Japan.

The company made a post on their corporate site, announcing a donation to the tune of 50 million Japanese Yen ($457,000 USD) to the Japan Red Cross Society.

Here is a transcript of the post:

“Tokyo, Japan (April 21, 2016) – Square Enix Group (the “Group”) extends its deepest sympathies and condolences to all those affected by the 2016 Kumamoto Earthquake.

With the hope to support the earliest possible relief and recovery of affected regions, the Group has made a donation of 50 million Japanese yen to the Japan Red Cross Society.

Kumamoto was hit with two earthquakes, magnitudes 5.4 and 7.3 back on April 16. It was reported that 29 were killed and more than a thousand injured.

Update: We have reached out to Square Enix for further details on this story but they were unavailable to comment at this time.
