Playstation 4 and PS Vita gamers will have to wait till late July or late August before they will be able to experience the dark and difficult roguelike RPG, Darkest Dungeon.

The developer, Red Hook Studios, confirmed the games delay yesterday. The studio wants to create the best experience possible for gamers and plans to include a new feature called Town Events to the console release.

“We have a level of quality that we want to ensure in all of our releases and we would rather take some extra time to make it right, rather than rush it out the door,” the team said.

Darkest Dungeon Console Release Delayed Till Late Summer 2Town Events are due late May for the PC and Mac releases. These events occur in the player’s Hamlet and can activate by completing various conditions over your quests or at times when you least expect/want them to.

Sickhead Games is responsible for porting Darkest Dungeon over to the Sony platforms while Red Hook focuses on developing new roguelike features to add to their game.
