One of the most highly-requested Xbox 360 titles will finally be available to play on your Xbox One. Major Nelson revealed via Twitter that Red Dead Redemption will be available for backwards compatibility on Xbox One starting this Friday, July 8th. The open-world western, as well as the Undead Nightmare and Game of the Year editions of the game will all be available to play on Xbox One.

Red Dead Redemption will also be available for purchase directly on the Xbox One’s online Store, where it is currently part of Xbox Ultimate Game Sale running until July 11th.

Red Dead Redemption originally released on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 in 2010. It quickly became one of the most acclaimed games of the last generation, boasting a 95 on Metacritic, winning several Game of The Year Awards and shipping over 14 million copies.
