The Silver Case remake landed on PC earlier this year to critical acclaim. But Suda51’s debut game is about to see another release in the coming year ahead. As Crunchyroll reports, The Silver Case‘s North American PlayStation 4 release will be available physically and digitally on April 18.
Published by NIS America, the game will also feature a limited edition available for PlayStation 4, which includes a special Collector’s Box, a 40 page artbook, a 20 page manga, the soundtrack on CD and an 18×24 poster that mirrors the Collector’s Edition box. The game will be available both physically and digitally, with a European release following on April 21.
Originally, The Silver Case‘s PC launch arrived in the West on Oct. 7, and the game’s release featured a special edition of its own. The Silver Case hit Western audiences at $19.99 USD, with the Deluxe Edition priced at $29.99. Don’t expect these same prices when it hits the PlayStation 4, however; the console release appears to cost more. On GameStop, the store currently lists the game at $29.99. Amazon features the game at $29.99 as well. This means that, while NIS America’s PlayStation 4 release mirrors the original PlayStation 1 version that The Silver Case saw in 1999, it’s more cost effective for consumers to invest in the PC version. No word yet on the price for the Collector’s Box, but expect it to be significantly higher due to the inclusions of printed material and other physical items.
The Silver Case‘s official release date announcement on PlayStation 4 comes alongside the release of Let It Die, Suda51’s roguelike free-to-play action game. While the game has come across mixed reviews due to its microtransactions, Let It Die has been applauded overall for its gameplay and stylistic creativity, a running theme throughout Suda51’s career. With The Silver Case on its way in 2017, expect next year to be a strong year overall for Suda51 in the West.
