Nintendo Launching More Themed Switch Cases in Japan

According to recent NPD figures, the attachment rate between The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild for the Nintendo Switch have actually eclipsed sales of the actual console itself. So, it should come as no surprise that Nintendo has decided to bring out more The Legend of Zelda themed accessories for their new hybrid console.

The Legend of Zelda isn’t the only IP receiving new themed goods either, Nintendo of Japan has put up listings of several different cases, that include Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, ARMS, Splatoon 2 and of course, The Legend of Zelda. The Zelda and Mario Kart themed cases are reminiscent of already existing Switch travel cases, such as the limited edition Sheikah Slate case that shipped with the special and collector’s editions of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

The Splatoon themed cases seem to also be available in both the standard travel case design and also a larger format, reminiscent of almost a lunch box, which is meant to accommodate both the Switch and the dock, along with all the cables, a few game cases and even a Pro controller. The cases are due out sometime soon, with the larger Splatoon 2 travel case set for a July release in Japan.

The products are available currently on Amazon Japan for preorder, anyone who may be interested in importing should be able to do so.  The smaller cases are priced at about roughly $30 USD while the larger travel case is around $50.
