Nintendo to Have More Switch Titles on the Way

If the world stopped spinning at this moment, then the Nintendo Switch would be considered a worldwide financial and critical success. Life is not that easy, though, and Nintendo is fully aware that they need to keep the pedal to the medal. If a recent tweet from Takashi Mochizuki (a Wall Street Journal technology reporter in Tokyo) is any indication, fans can expect the global juggernaut to do just that.

Mochizuki posted on his Twitter page that the CEO of Nintendo, Tatsumi Kimishima, repeatedly informed fans that there are more unannounced titles that are sure to continue to increase the sales of the Switch. An interesting development, however, is if he was referencing 1st, 2nd or 3rd party titles.

This is something that Nintendo desperately needs to do, as they can only milk the success of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild for so long. Already one of the most critically acclaimed video games to ever be released, this entry in The Legend of Zelda franchise is the catalyst to the console’s early success.

The problem is after Arms releases in June, and Splatoon 2 launches in July, one of the few major games they have left is Super Mario Odyssey; which is set to release in the holiday season of 2017. Now, granted that is a huge title that will most likely see the same success that Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has. The recent Direct presentation that they hosted did reveal several games that would be making their way on the console, but most of them are only appealing to get to play old favourites (Minecraft, Skyrim, etc.) on the go.

Do not get it twisted, the Switch is not short of an upcoming games lists. However, it is never a bad idea to announce more and more titles to blow the socks off fans. After all, Nintendo is on the brink of something special with the Switch.
