New Need for Speed Will Have an Offline Campaign

Need for Speed fans pleading that creating an online-only experience was a horrendous idea that should never be implemented again are in for some delighting news today. Fans of the franchise have known for quite some time now that a new version would be released in 2017, but now it has been officially confirmed that it will make the deadline, with it, they can enjoy an offline campaign mode.

In their press release, developer Ghost Games revealed a few tidbits on the new Need for Speed. Most notably, they mention that the single-player campaign will be able to be enjoyed offline. Jokingly, they also inform fans that they can now pause the game when they are ready for a break. The decision to make the full reboot, which was released in 2015, online-exclusive took a lot of slack. So, it is nice to see Ghost Games divert from the same criticism again.

Besides that, Ghost Games also noted that they are devoted to making customization a home in the Need for Speed franchise; promising that it will play as big a role as it ever has. Their short description of the gameplay states that players will be free to indulge in several activities, as well.

They also promise that the closer they get to EA PLAY in June, the more details will be revealed. For now, it is nice to know the newest instalment has an offline mode!

Back in 2016, Ghost Games announced that their newest addition to the franchise would release in 2017. But, fans know that speed bumps and hurdles can present themselves in the process of creating media. So, to hear now that Ghost Games and EA still expect it to launch at the end of the year is reassuring.
