JOIN THE RITUAL OF THE NIGHT! It’s the late 18th century England, an era when people’s lives changed dramatically with the ushering in of the Industrial Revo…
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night’s development is being led by former producer of the Castlevania series, Koji Igarashi. After his departure from Konami in 2014, numerous fan requests for a new Metroidvania game led to a Kickstarter campaign for Bloodstained. The Kickstarter was a major success, raising over $5.5 million from its backers, becoming one of the most funded video game crowdfunding campaigns on the platform.
The plot of Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night follows Miriam, an orphan who must explore a demon filled castle in order to locate and defeat a man who’s placed a curse on her that slowly turns her skin into crystal. Considered to be a spiritual successor to Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Bloodstained uses much of the same formula with new and enhanced features added in. By defeating enemies, players can attain new powers for Miriam to use as well as items that can be used for weapon and armor crafting. Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is being published by 505 Games and will be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch and PC. A Vita version of the game is being developed by Armature Studio. A Wii U version of the game was also being developed but was ultimately cancelled in favor of the Switch edition.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night will be present at E3 where new content for the game will be revealed.
