The universe of Assassin’s Creed Origins will be expanding beyond what will be seen in the game.

Ubisoft announced new publishing plans revolving around their upcoming game, Assassin’s Creed Origins. The company will create a novel that will serve as a prologue to the game’s story, titled Assassin’s Creed Origins Desert Oath. Desert Oath will portray a young Bayek as he follows in his father’s footsteps. Published by Ubisoft, The book will be written by Oliver Bowden with the development team behind Assassin’s Creed Origins supporting him. Since 2009, Oliver Bowden has written several novelizations of the Assassin’s Creed games in the past.

In addition, a miniseries of four official Assassin’s Creed Origins comics will be made. The comics will be written by Anne Toole, one of the writers for the original Dead Island game. The books will explore the first years of the Assassins’ Order. The comics will introduce new characters along with notable historical figures. The books will be published by Titan Books.

Ubisoft also plans to create a guidebook for Assassin’s Creed Origins, called the Complete Official Guide. Published by PRIMA Games, the guide will contain a 100 per cent walkthrough along with detailed maps flagged with locations, collectables and targets. Owners of the Complete Official Guide will also be able to use a digital mobile-friendly version of the guide, allowing for player convenience.
