Etrian Odyssey V: Beyond the Myth is set to come out October 17 in the Americas, with an earlier October 3 release in European territories.
Atlus’s highly anticipated and renowned RPG series is back with Etrian Odyssey V: Beyond the Myth on the Nintendo 3DS. The upcoming title is the 5th entry into the long-running series. The story in Etrian Odyssey V revolves around the legendary and colossal Yggdrasil Tree. Aside from being titanic in size, the mystical tree is said to be a labyrinthine maze, filled to the brim with monsters and nightmare-inducing creepy crawlies.
Those who pre-order or buy the limited edition version of Etrian Odyssey V: Beyond the Myth will receive the following bonus items in addition to the game:
Like previous entries into the series, the game utilizes a classic first-person camera that has players interact with the world around them through the eyes of the characters. Everything from the eclectic cast to the daunting and often challenging encounters with monsters harkens back to the good old days of first-person dungeon crawlers while giving the genre a fresh and beautiful coat of paint.
Thanks to the dual screen design of the Nintendo 3DS, Etrian Odyssey V, like previous entries into the series, utilizes the bottom screen as a dedicated map and quick select menu, making traversal within the massive game world a manageable and fun experience.
Etrian Odyssey V: Beyond the Myth will be available October 17, 2017, and will retail for $54.99 CAD and $39.99 USD.
