Raid: World War II Release Date Announced, Coming First To PC 1

Lion Game Lion, 505 Games, and Publisher Starbreeze Studios have just announced the release dates for their upcoming 4-player co-op shooter, Raid: World War II.

Raid: World War II will be hitting PC first when it launches next month on September 26. The World War II co-op shooter will also see a release on consoles later this year in October.

For those unfamiliar with the title, Raid: World War II is 4-player action shooter in a similar vein as titles like the original PayDay and PayDay 2. As the title implies, the game is set during World War II and has players face off against the sinister Nazi regime. Raid: World War II promises to include a good mix of both high octane action and more atmospheric, tension-filled stealth sequences.

Unlike the PayDay series where gameplay always consisted of one area, Raid: World War II, will transport players across real-world battles from WWII that mix up objectives and offer new and exciting gameplay opportunities that will keep the game feeling fresh and fun for extended periods of play.

Game Director Ilija Petrusic wrote:

“The goal in Raid: World War II is simple: sabotage, assassinate and pulverize everything bearing a swastika, mess with Hitler, and steal his treasures. With the Nazi regime as the ultimate evil, Raid brings together four unique characters with playstyles that complement and enhance each other as they fight and steal across Europe.”

In the upcoming co-op romp, players assume the role of one of four prisoners of war, fuelled by vengeance (and the drive to kill some Nazis). Players are encouraged to go all out as they explore the war-torn European battlegrounds and eventually come face to face with the Fuhrer himself.

Raid: World War II will be available September 26 on PC with a PlayStation 4 and Xbox One release planned for October 10 in North America and October 13 in Europe.
