The fan-favorite VR title, EVE: Valkyrie, is going to be receiving a major expansion in September that will change the game’s name to EVE: Valkyrie – Warzone. This new update brings with it some radical changes to the game.
The most startling of changes is that EVE: Valkyrie is no longer a VR exclusive title. With the launch of the new expansion, players will be able to play EVE: Valkyrie – Warzone on PC and Sony PlayStation 4. This means that players who wanted to play EVE: Valkyrie are no longer forced to purchase a VR headset to do so. You can check out the trailer for the upcoming expansion, below.
“If you can play first-person shooters, you can pilot one of EVE: Valkyrie – Warzone’s amazing ships,” said Andrew Willans, Lead Game Designer at CCP’s Newcastle Studio. “Not having access to VR hardware will no longer hold gamers back from diving weapons-first into intense and highly competitive space combat with friends. We look forward to seeing the already intense competition between Valkyrie pilots going up a notch, as more players from around the world can join existing pilots for space-dogfighting battles.”

Along with the change to VR, the game will also be adding a next-generation fleet of iconic ships to the game. Each ship will have their own distinct role in battle and will also have powerful Ultra abilities.
