THQ Nordic Announces Black Mirror Reboot, Point And Click Horror Game

THQ Nordic has announced a new title: Black Mirror, an adventure horror game with a gothic inspired aesthetic.

Black Mirror is actually a reboot of the 2004 series of the same name; the new title will be a point-and-click adventure game and is currently in development by KING Art Games.

KING Art Games is responsible for titles such as The Book of Unwritten Tales, The Dwarves, and The Raven.

The point-and-click romp will be a reimagining of an already existing 2004 property. On a side note, the franchise is not related to the popular Netflix program, but like the show, the game will feature a strong focus on narrative while delving into dark and macabre subject matter.

For those unfamiliar with the original Black Mirror games, the titles featured creepy stories told in classic point-and-click fashion. Additionally, players worried about being lost when the new game drops don’t have to fret as the new title will be a reboot, making it perfectly approachable for newcomers to the franchise.

Some key features that will be present in the upcoming title include:

  • A modern re-imagining of the acclaimed gothic-horror adventure series
  • Interactions with vision-like apparitions which help you learn more about the past of your family
  • Eerie atmosphere focusing on the horrors of the mind, in the style of Edgar Allan Poe and H.P. Lovecraft
  • High quality voice acting from a compelling ensemble cast

For those lucky enough to be attending Gamescom 2017 in Germany, THQ Nordic will have Black Mirror available to demo on the show floor.  THQ will have the game on display in the Entertainment Hall, A011.

The Black Mirror reboot will be available November 28, 2017 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
