New Partnership Deal Between 505 Games And Limbic Entertainment Announced

Limbic Entertainment and 505 Games have entered a new partnership together. For those unfamiliar with Limbic Entertainment, they are a development studio best known for titles such as the Might & Magic, a franchise they helped bring to life alongside Ubisoft. They are currently working on Tropico 6 with Kalypso Media.

With the new partnership, 505 Games has acquired the worldwide publishing and marketing rights to Limbic Entertainment’s next game, an online title set in an expansive survival based sandbox world.

The new deal between Limbic Entertainment and 505 Games has come just after 505 announced another publishing partnership with Paul Neurath and Warren Spector’s Otherside Entertainment on Underworld Ascendant, the next generation sequel to the renowned Ultima Underworld series of role-playing games.

The last Ultima game to come out was Ultima Underworld: The Stygian Abyss, which released all the way back in 1992. Underworld Ascendant promises to be a faithful sequel and reimagining of the classic source material.

In regards to the new partnership deal, Tim Woodley, SVP of global brand and marketing for 505 Games, had this to say:

“We are always on the lookout for new development partners who bring something unique to our diverse and indie-focused portfolio, and Limbic Entertainment’s new project does exactly that. The team at Limbic is pushing the limits of the online multiplayer survival genre, putting a fresh spin on an emergent game world and an innovative character progression, and we’re looking forward to having a part in bringing that to players around the world.”

Stephan Winter, CEO of Limbic Entertainment, added:

“Our team is excited to dive into creating a new IP, and we are especially happy with the creative freedom in our cooperation with 505 Games, 505 is making a name for itself as a great publishing partner, and we knew right away they were the right company to embark on this project with us, as we move to defy the current limitations of the survival genre. We think players will really respond to this game, and we’re looking forward to sharing more details soon.”

No further information is available in regards to the what exactly the upcoming game between 505 Games and Limbic will be about, aside from it being an online sandbox survival experience.
