  • October 12, 2017

[PRESS RELEASE] PAST CURE, the new action stealth thriller coming from Berlin-based indie developer Phantom 8 Studio, is back on the screen with a short but intensive trailer for the announcement of the release date.

PAST CURE: Action Stealth Thriller is Back With the Announcement of the Release Date 3

Phantom 8 Studio is very proud to announce that PAST CURE will be released February 2nd of 2018!

Together with our partners, Phantom 8 Studio has set a release date for PAST CURE. February 2nd 2018, the game will be available around the world in the PlayStation and Xbox Store, as also on Steam. It will also be available as a disc version across retailers in Europe, the Middle East, New Zealand, Australia, Korea and North and South America. PAST CURE will be available in spoken English and will have localized subtitles in English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Korean, Russian, Japanese, Chinese Simplified and Traditional.

Check out the new PAST CURE release date announcement trailer here:

The chosen release date will give the studio the time to bring PAST CURE to the highest possible level and to maximize the player’s experience.

A dark psychological thriller
PAST CURE tells the story of Ian, a tormented man, desperate to rediscover his lost identity.

The storytelling of PAST CURE is integrated in the levels and missions, the more you progress, the more you discover about Ian’s past. To have the player experience deep immersion, we chose a linear level and mission structure in combination with a highly cinematic and narrative experience.

Immersion is further enhanced through the use of cinematic cutscenes and reduction of HUD time on screen.

This enigmatic plot is not all it appears to be, as the story twists between dreams and reality, leaving the player guessing till the final seconds of the game.

Both missions and the arching levels drive the story. There is variation in gameplay as the story and surroundings develop. Contrasting and combining between surreal dark dream sequences with survival and puzzle gameplay, and the gritty but stylish real world focusing on stealth and action gameplay.

Also, the other characters, which Ian encounters on his endeavour, have a visual impact on the levels and even impact gameplay, and thus missions in certain moments.
