PHICOMM Announces Smart Router Based on Intel® Technology

SAN JOSE, Calif., Nov. 07, 2017 — PHICOMM, a leading developer of smart home devices, announced today it introduced the K3C smart router based on Intel® technology. The PHICOMM K3C AC 1900 Dual-Band MU-MIMO Gigabit Router is designed specifically to accelerate video, streaming, and gaming, thus delivering a premium smart home experience.

The K3C smart router is one of the first to use the Intel® Home Wi-Fi Chipset WAV500 Series, giving it the ability to offer MU-MIMO technology and connect up to 128 devices simultaneously. It auto-detects any device that is connected such as gaming consoles, media players, smart TVs, tablets, smartphones, computers, intelligent personal assistants such as Amazon Echo or Google Home, and any other Wi-Fi connected devices.

“The smart home market is growing at a rapid pace, and the technology behind it is a key driver,” stated Del Larsh, vice president of sales and marketing at PHICOMM. “The smart home audience, especially those who are recent adopters, demand a simple, secure and expandable solution that can accommodate all devices on their network as well as any new devices they may add. Our K3C smart router with the Intel® Home Wi-Fi Chipset offers an exciting opportunity for consumers that is aimed at enhancing the smart home experience.”

“Consumers expect seamless connectivity with every new device and connected activity they bring into their homes. We are collaborating with the industry to integrate Intel® technology into solutions, like the PHICOMM K3C, to deliver high performance and consistent connectivity that will enable new smart home experiences,” said Doron Tal, general manager of Intel’s Wireless Infrastructure Group.

The streamlined setup of the K3C is designed to make it easy for anyone to be up and running in minutes, while also providing all the customization tools advanced users desire. The easy-to-use interface allows users to customize, monitor or change the settings of the network, including setting parental controls, security, guest network access, network name and password, printer and scanner settings, and mapping storage drives, all in one easy view.

Additional features include one-key-setup experience, automatic change in case of IP conflict, intelligent adjustment of wireless signal intensity, and minimization of Wi-Fi radiation while still delivering a premium user experience, and remote management on the PHICOMM smart app.

The K3C was designed by Jacob Jensen Design Studio to create a sleek, classic design and on-trend color schemes, which earned the K3C a 2017 International iF Design Award. The device is available in Classic Grey, Galaxy Silver, and Champagne Gold to complement any individual style or home environment.

The PHICOMM K3C offers up to 1900Mbps of dual-band data rates with the latest 802.11ac Wave2 technology. It includes a powerful dual core networking processor and six built-in high-gain Omni-directional antennas for maximized range and throughput. The antennas also reduce co-channel interference and provide ultra-smooth connectivity for streaming, VR gaming and instant downloads with less lag and buffering. The K3C also offers Beamforming, which optimizes coverage and performance and allows users to focus their Wi-Fi signal for better signal strength to each connected device.

The K3C features optimization technology, which helps create a smooth streaming in up to 4K quality for Internet favorites like Netflix, Hulu, YouTube™, Xbox® LIVE, Skype™ and other streaming services. It maximizes bandwidth for entertainment services to provide a premium entertainment experience on a smart TV or screen that is connected to the router.

In addition to getting a premium home entertainment experience, K3C users can localize storage and backup for all the computers in their home. Users can also access the K3C remotely via the PHICOMM PHIWifi app from an iPad®, iPhone®, iPod touch® or Android™ smartphone and tablet. The embedded Tuxera Drive feature improves the performance by accelerating access to external storage.

The PHICOMM K3C Smart Router features fast wireless performance with speeds up to 1900 Mbps (600Mbps on the 2.4GHz and 1300 Mbps on the 5GHz bands combined). It includes 3 Gigabit LAN and 1 WLAN Gigabit Ethernet ports for up to 10/100/1000 Mbps wired speeds, 1 USB 3.0 port for additional storage, printer and media share server, and range amplifier antennas for extended range. Additionally, the K3C offers Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) and Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) support for easy detection and connection of Wi-Fi devices.

The PHICOMM K3C is available now on Amazon at an MSRP of $139.99. All PHICOMM products are backed by a two-year limited warranty and toll-free 24/7 technical support. For more information about PHICOMM and its smart home solutions, please visit the company’s Web site at www.phicomm.com.
