It looks like Disney is shaping up to be the new owners of Fox.
News broke recently that Disney is currently in talks to buy the majority of 21st Century Fox’s assets. If the deal goes through, it would obviously mean big things for Disney in the world of movies and television. The acquisition of Fox’s content will also help with the launch of Disney’s upcoming streaming service.
The merger would make changes in Fox’s management roles as well. Chief executive James Murdoch, a member of the Murdoch family that currently runs the media company could end up taking the role of senior executive over at Disney.
While Fox was also in talks with Comcast but Disney is a few steps ahead. The agreement between Disney and Fox could be announced as early as next week. The Murdoch family will be left running News Corporation, the company that owns The Wall Street Journal and a few others.
