PUBG Bans 100,000 Players For Cheating 1

PUBG Corporation has banned 100,000 players who used cheats in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, the developers announced Friday.

The dev team discussed the news in a blog post, stating that they have made the decision to focus on ensuring a fair and competitive environment after the release of 1.0.

“We recently discovered a new pattern of cheats in action,” the PUBG team said. “This week, we performed a thorough gameplay data review of 10 million players and completed analysis of tens of millions of data logs. Through this exercise, we were able to identify over 100,000 instances of the new pattern related to use of cheat and now we have confirmed that it was clearly an attempt of compromising our game. These players will be permanently banned in a single wave.”

The team also announced that they would be cooperating with investigative agencies in some countries to take legal action against those who develop and share cheats. PUBG’s distributor in China, Tencent, has already begun to crack down on cheat makers with the help of law enforcement, with over 120 arrests being made so far according to Bloomberg.

In addition to the wave of bans, the developers also shared upcoming balancing changes to the blue zone, as well as a fix for a death cam bug that does not show recoil on players.
