Call of Duty: WWII originally launched with what felt like a low amount of content. However since the game’s launch, producer Sledgehammer Games has been consistently adding additional bonuses for players to enjoy. From January 23 to February 27, Call of Duty: WWII players will have access to the new Resistance Event.
The Resistance Event, named after Call of Duty: WWII’s soon to be released DLC 1: The Resistance; will contain more content than the previous event Winter Siege had to offer.
For players that felt like Call of Duty: WWII lacked variety in weapons, the Resistance event will include three new weapons: Orso (A capable looking SMG), Volkssturmgewerh (An Assault-rifle with a rather scary name), and finally the Combat Knife. All three of these weapons will be available either by completing challenges or by acquiring them through supply drops; which can be either purchased or gained once a week.
The Resistance Event won’t include any new maps, but it will add two Call of Duty fan-favourite modes to Call of Duty: WWII – Demolition (A mode comparable to Search and Destroy, except with active respawns), and Prop Hunt (A hide and seek-esque game mode using the game’s objects). To add on to the exciting modes, the Resistance Event will bring 2XP playlists for all modes, including Zombies, Multiplayer, and War.
With Call of Duty: WWII’s high emphasis in its new division system, it doesn’t come as a surprise that the Resistance Event will be adding not only new gear for your solider but a completely new division. Appropriately named Resistance, this new division has a high emphasis on pistol gameplay, being the only current way of using a tactical knife attachment with secondary weapons thus far.
Call of Duty: WWII is Activision and Sledgehammer Game’s latest effort. Call of Duty: WWII is a highly intense World War 2 first-person shooter that brings back Call of Duty’s original boots on the ground gameplay. To read our Call of Duty: WWII review, click here.
