Joycity Holds a Press Event to Announce 2018 Lineup

Joycity today revealed its lineup of games slated for 2018.

At a press event held at Joycity headquarters in Seoul, South Korea, the company has shown off 3 games in development for 2018 release.

The War of Genesis’ was revealed first. This marks the first time this highly anticipated game is formally shown in public since the announcement of development in 2015. The War of Genesis is based on the hugely popular classic Korean RPG franchise of the same name. The newly developed game by Joycity features characters and lore from the original games and incorporates strategy and management elements. A massive guild battles will be introduced to The War of Genesis franchise for the first time in this new title.

A never-announced new game based on the mega-successful Gunship Battle IP was revealed next. Gunship Battle is one of Joycity’s premier IP with over 100 million downloads globally. The new game in the series ‘Gunship Battle: Total Warfare’ takes place in a modern military setting and will allow players to participate in large scale battles on mobile. Gunship Battle: Total Warfare will add extra strategic elements by incorporating the Air Force and the Navy and appeal to the fans of modern military games and Gunship Battle series.

The event’s last announcement was ‘Project BLESS Mobile’(working title). It is based on the popular MMORPG, Bless Online on PC. Project BLESS Mobile will feature a different story line from the original and will adopt a unique combat system tailored to mobile platforms. The game is powered by Unreal Engine 4 and the goal is to push the fidelity as high as possible.‘The game market is highly competitive worldwide. We’ve been strengthening our research and development to further fuel our innovation as a game company. The variety of new games shown here today will give Joycity an edge in this fast-changing industry,’ said Seongwon Cho, CEO of Joycity.

All of the games announced at the press event will launch in fiscal 2018. The War of Genesis will launch in Q1 with staggered rollout through Q2. Gunship Battle: Total Warfare will launch in Q2 and will expand territories throughout Q3. Project BLESS Mobile is currently planned to be released in the second half of 2018. All 3 games will release on both Apple App Store and Google Play.
