Monster Hunter: World Hits Stores and Digital Platforms Globally 1

Get your equipment together and gather your hunter friends because Monster Hunter: World is now available globally for purchase.

The long awaited addition to the Monster Hunter series has released today. The game is available on PlayStation 4, and Xbox One platforms, making it the first global simultaneous release for the 40 million unit-selling action RPG series. A PC release is a little ways off, with a version of the game being available in the Fall of this year.  

Players could play by themselves or team up with three others to hunt down the larger than life beasts. For the first time in the series, through online co-op, players can join in on other hunts mid-quest to assist other hunters.

In Monster Hunter: World, players must uncover the secret of the elder dragons and the mysterious migration that happens once a decade. Players are part of the Guild’s Research Commission and players are tasked to investigate the Elder Crossing and discover the secrets of the elder dragons.   

The Monster Hunter Series implements a rewarding skill-based progression and in-depth crafting system. Throughout the game, players will embark on quests to slay powerful monsters, collect materials, craft sturdy equipment and go out to hunt even more powerful monsters. In Monster Hunter: World, the environment plays a more crucial role than it has ever before. Hunters must analyze their surroundings to learn about the monsters they are tracking. Through the surroundings they can learn about a monsters habits, weaknesses and strengths. When players will inevitably be running from some of the monsters they are hunting, they can use their surroundings to their advantages. They can try to trap monsters in hanging vines and unleash a torrent of attacks while the beast in vulnerable.

Monster Hunter: World will also be rotating free post-launch content events. One of these events includes a collaboration quest that incorporates one of the most popular PlayStation 4 titles of 2017, Horizon Zero Dawn. This quest will allow players to collect unique themed equipment. From now to February 8, hunters can see their Palico companions look like a machine from Horizon Zero Dawn. Afterwards, from February 28 to March 5, players will be able to acquire Aloy’s bow and armour set.    

On top of the special quests, the first major content update will feature fan-favourite monster Deviljho. This update will be available in the Spring of 2018.
