Pixels & Ink Episode #281: Maze of Oscar Noms

Pixels & Ink Episode #281: Maze of Oscar Noms 1

This week, Brendan, Phil, Jordan, and Lisa take a look at the latest news from Hollywood and the gaming scene. In reviews, the team looks at Maze Runner: The Death Cure and Sea of Thieves.

First up, the Pixels & Ink team takes a look at some of the biggest games titles to launch this week: Dragon Ball FighterZCelesteThe Inpatient, and of course, Monster Hunter World. In other game news, Nintendo announced their plan to end their social app Miitomo in May. Finally, they explore the news that Yuji Naka, co-creator and “grandfather of Sonic”, has joined on with Square Enix.

In entertainment news, the team talks about the nominees for the 90th Academy Awards and some of the surprising things to come from the announcement. The team also takes a look at new information coming out of a third Bill and Ted movie, a new Clue movie involving Ryan Reynolds and Deadpool writers, and how John Cena is in talks to star as Duke Nukem in an upcoming Michael Bay movie featuring the infamous videogame character.

Phil saw Maze Runner: The Death Cure this week, and is eternally grateful that the YA glorified dystopian trilogy has finally come to an end, likely bringing the genre down with it. Lisa sailed her way across the seas in the Sea of Thieves closed beta and is slowly learning how to be her best pirate self in the process.
