BattlEye Takes Aim at PUBG Cheaters

BattlEye Takes Aim at PUBG Cheaters 1

Anti Cheat company BattlEye has banned over 1 million PUBG cheaters in January alone.

The company announced the accomplishment in a tweet and the ban signifies the largest in the game’s history. To put the number into perspective, back in December BattlEye revealed that they had only banned 1.5 million PUBG cheaters overall.

A potential reason for this influx may be the newly released Xbox One version of the game, which came out in early December and was able to reach 1 million players in two days. December was also the month where PUBG reached 3 million concurrent players for the first time in the games history and that over 30 million people have bought the game, either on Xbox One or PC.

BattlEye did also mention that although January was a big month for bans, “things continue to escalate.” This is not the first instance of PUBG cheating and the game has battled with cheat makers since it first launched.

As for PUBG’s future on other consoles, PUBG Corp CEO Chang Han Kim has said in the past that he wants the game to appear on “every platform” but there has been no concrete news as of yet. That being said, a mobile version of the game is set to launch in China at some point in the near future.
