Crytek Announces New CEO's

Crytek has announced that Avni Yerli and Faruk Yerli will be taking over as joint CEO’s for the company.

Avni and Faruk Yerli are co-founders of Crytek and take over for their brother, Cevat Yerli who was the former CEO of the company. Cevat Yerli will continue to serve as a strategic shareholder for Crytek and wishes the best to his brothers.

Yerli said that with the company in a strong position “now is the ideal time to recognize the existing leadership’s excellent achievements over these past two years and formally transition executive leadership to Avni and Faruk.” He went on to say that he has been “honoured to serve as CEO of the company I founded with my brothers almost 20 years ago and have seen the team accomplish breakthrough things in that time. I look forward to continue helping Crytek as a major shareholder, and I am very excited to see what tomorrow brings.”

The move comes off the heels of the company releasing their newest game, The Hunt Showdown and Crytek said in a statement that they will continue to focus on enhancing their CRYENGINE as well as ongoing development for The Hunt: Showdown.

Crytek was founded in September of 1999 and the company has studios in Frankfurt, Kiev and Istanbul. They are most well known for their first person shooter series Crysis, in which you control military characters who use use technologically advanced nanosuits to enhance their strength. The newest iteration in the Crysis franchise, Crysis 3, released back in 2012 and has an average score of 76 on review aggregate site Metacritic.
