Ready Player One (2018) Review

Ready Player One (2018) Review

Steven Spielberg is arguably the greatest filmmaker in popular culture. He burst on the scene in 1975, scaring the pants off audiences with the first official summer blockbuster – JAWS. Coming into the 1980’s and early 90’s, Spielberg continued his box office and pop culture dominance directing such iconic films as E.T., Raiders of the Lost Ark (plus two Indiana Jones sequels) and Jurassic Park.

Kindle Oasis (E-Reader) Review 5

Kindle Oasis (E-Reader) Review

For the past couple of years e-readers have been going down in price in order to welcome new customers into their rich ecosystem of literature, but in 2018 that trend has seemingly been replaced with a different target market in mind. Whether it’s Amazon or Chapters, all the big names in electronic ink are developing premium models of their most popular devices, packing in new features with expensive price tags. In Amazon’s case this means the release of the new 7” Kindle Oasis, which they market as being “unlike any Kindle you’ve ever experienced.” Sporting a hefty $390 CAD price tag, this e-reader has a lot to prove in a price range dominated by more versatile tablets.

L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files Review 3

L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files Review

There I was, in a shootout outside of a downtown bank. Crouching behind my car I quickly looked around and took in my surroundings. To my left, my partner was poking out and yelling at me to be wary. The Anime Research Society: Episode #6

The Anime Research Society: Episode #6

It’s time once again for the Anime Research Society to explore the depths of anime – the good, the bad, the absolutely insane. Join them as they take a look at some of the best and worst of the season and some recommendations to lead you on your research journey.

This week, Cole, Remington, Lisa, and Preston explore the first three action-packed episodes of B: The Beginning. Another beautiful series from Production I.G., B: The Beginning tells the suspenseful story of genius RIS detective, Keith, the mysterious Koku, and the city plagued by a terrifying criminal organization and the serial murderer, Killer B. It’s a white-knuckle ride for the team this week!

The team dole out a few of their favourite anime from past seasons to check out. Finally, the team is stumped over a mysterious (and frankly, a little ridiculous) anime summary.

The Anime Research Society is available every Wednesday. Tune in and don’t miss a minute of the fun!
