Hello Kitty and Friends Find a New Home On iOS and Android

An English version of Hello Kitty’s The Land of Hidden Objects ~DokokanaArcana~ will be available on the App Store and Google Play store starting today.

The title features many iconic Sanrio characters including everyone’s favourite anthropomorphic cat, Hello Kitty. Of course, it wouldn’t be a fun hidden object game without some of Hello Kitty’s best friends, such as My Melody, Cinnamoroll, Pompompurin and everyone’s favourite fish-faced cutie, Kirimichan.

Hello Kitty’s The Land of Hidden Objects also introduces players to a brand-new character King David Arcana, a forgetful ruler of the Arcana Kingdom.

Aesthetically the game features the bright and pastel tones that Hello Kitty is known for which is aptly suited for vibrant displays of most mobile devices and phones.

Curious cat’s who might not be familiar with the origins of Hello Kitty and the Sanrio brand — the famous purrsonified kitty began her career in 1974 when designer Yuko Shimizu depicted Hello Kitty sitting between a bottle of milk and a goldfish bowl on a vinyl coin purse.

Shimizu named her Hello Kitty after being inspired by a scene within Lewis Carroll’s classic, Through the Looking-Glass, in which Alice plays with a cat she calls Kitty. The Hello part of Hello Kitty was chosen as Shimizu wanted to emphasis Sanrio’s motto of “social communication”.

Many depictions of Hello Kitty feature her with no mouth. This was intentional, with the core idea being that people who view Hello Kitty can project and mediate their feelings through her. Additionally, her lack of a mouth is a means to show that Hello Kitty speaks from her heart.

Hello Kitty’s The Land of Hidden Objects ~DokokanaArcana~ is available now for download on both the iOS and Android apps store.
