Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg will be testifying later today at 2:15 PM Eastern time.

The first day of the trial will see the Facebook founder testify before Congress in regards to security vulnerabilities present within the popular social media platform. In October, Facebook, alongside Google and Twitter were under fire for foreign influence on the 2016 elections, instead of going himself, Zuckerberg managed to send a lawyer in his stead to DC.

Recent findings that exposed that Facebook user data was shared with Cambridge Analytica in a data scandal involving the collection of personal and identifiable data of up to 87 million registered Facebook users.

Aside from sharing personal user information, Facebook also faces allegations of abuse of the platform including the insemination of fake news, the 2016 Russian disinformation campaign, and hate speeches.

Zuckerberg commented on the matter, “We didn’t take a broad enough view of our responsibility, and that was a big mistake. It was my mistake, and I’m sorry.”

Understandably, this massive breach of privacy lead many to question the potentially harmful power of Facebook, with many adopting a #deletefacebook hashtag in an effort to campaign against the social media juggernaut

Senator Richard Blumenthal in a statement commented on the matter, “I’m glad Mr. Zuckerberg has agreed to face the music. His company has shamelessly shredded the privacy rights of its users,” he continued adding, “This hearing is a good first step towards instituting some vitally necessary rules of the road for Big Tech.”

Those interested in watching a live stream of the event can tune at 2:15 PM ET/ 11:15 AM PT on the Verge, which will be hosting a live feed of the proceedings.
