8 Circuit Studios to Implement Cryptocurrency to aid in Virtual Collectibles

8 Circuit Studios to Implement Cryptocurrency to aid in Virtual Collectibles 1

As Bitcoin rises in value by the seconds, so does the interest for Cryptocurrency. 8 Circuit Studios seems to be taking Cryptocurrencies a bit further, by introducing the first ever way for players to buy video game assets through their Cryptocurrency wallets.

Most specifically, 8 Circuit Studios will be powering its services through Ethereum blockchain, Bitcoin’s direct competitor. It also ensures 8 Circuit Studios is able to create, attribute and safeguard digital assets. By building on these “digital assets” 8 Circuit Studios works with developers to make it so you, the player truly owns their digital assets, and developers can build new profitable and highly immersive games experiences.

When asked for examples of possible collectables, 8 Circuit Studios’ president, James Mayo responded with “cute adorable aliens, and their space-age accessories, that can be found in our first mobile game Alien Arsenal: Battle for the Blockchain” as one of many upcoming digital assets.

To add on, James Mayo also stated he is very confident in the influence of Cryptocurrencies in gaming outlining: “I definitely see Cryptocurrencies playing a bigger part in gaming and digital life in general. Now that blockchains are here, it is becoming clear that they will offer capabilities as profound as those discovered when the internet went mainstream.” Ensuring that blockchains are one of 8 Circuit Studio’s many passion projects.

8 Circuit Studios connected this move as one step towards the “Metaverse”, a concept seen in the works such as Ready Player One, TRON and The Matrix. With blockchain technology, this idea of digital ownership comes closer to a reality, especially in the realm of digital items, where everything you buy or earn, is yours.

For those who don’t want to spend their hard-earned cash on cryptocurrencies, 8 Circuit Studios is inviting players to join their Discord, earning the chance to earn free 8Bit Tokens immediately.

As for when players can expect to get a showcase of this new technology, 8 Circuit Studios plans to implement it with their upcoming project Alien Arsenal: Battle for the Blockchain, releasing in Spring 2018, and the self-aware A.I. focused D-PARC, releasing in 2019.

While the Metaverse maybe a ways off, and the future of Cryptocurrency-based video-game collectables is unknown, 8 Circuit Studios’ excitement towards the project leaves room for justified hype. It will be exciting to see how the new digital landscape shapes up in the coming years.
