Epic Introduces Latest 4.3 Patch for Fortnite, Adds Mushrooms and More

Version 4.3 is now live

Epic Games just dropped the latest patch for Fortnite, bringing the game up to version 4.3.

The new update brought with it a slew of changes and fixes such as tweaks to the Turbo building feature and the addition of shopping carts, which act as crude vehicles for players to cruise around in.

Shopping Carts have been introduced to the game, allowing up to two players to ride around the map, sneak up on other players or escape the ever-expanding storm that encroaches the safe area. The carts allow up to two players to hop in, with one player in control of the cart, while the passenger has full access to their arsenal of weapons and gadgets.

Recently, Fortnite players were treated to apples as a new form of a healing item, with the latest 4.3 update, players will now be able to forage for mushrooms, which can be found in wooded areas and shrubbery, unlike apples that heal a small portion of the players HP, mushrooms instead will give players a small shield, adding to the overall defense stat of the player.

For many players, even on PC, a controller is just the way to go, unfortunately, due to the lack of buttons, hot-keys and other quick build options have been limited but thanks to the latest patch, a new Turbo build feature and toggle for the aim assist and edit modes for controller use has been added, alleviating players from accidentally entering edit mode when unwarranted.

Two fan-favourite modes have been reintroduced in the game, Blitz Mode and Teams of 20. Blizts Mode is relatively unchanged, however, Teams of 20 now will give teams their own Battle Bus when spawning into the game as it begins, while chests and other collectable loot have increased, making it easier to find enough for the larger team count.

Finally, fans of the mobile version of Fortnite can now speak their mind with the added support of voice-chat, something that has been long requested since the launch of the mobile iteration of the popular game.

Fortnite is available to play for free on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Mobile platforms.
