The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit (PS4) Review

As a prelude to Life is Strange 2, something ostensibly meant to pique one’s interest in the episodic series starting in September, The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit certainly does its job. It establishes characters, conflict, dynamics, and its own superpower sporting protagonist, with what feels like a better understanding of how to write characters of a certain age than its predecessor. But rather than focusing on teenage girls, Captain Spirit focuses on a young boy named Chris.

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus (Switch) Review

Porting Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus to the Nintendo Switch was a tall task for Panic Button. It’s one of the most graphically intense video games to come out in the past year, and fitting all of the quality action and storytelling on a cartridge is easier said than done. But much like their port of DOOM last year, developer Panic Button has done an admirable job in bringing the best action game of 2017 to Nintendo’s console, even if numerous technical comprises had to be made.

In a recent interview with the studio, Bioware’s general manager Casey Hudson and Mark Darrah, the executive producer for Anthem, sat down with Game Informer to talk about Bioware’s interest in creating smaller titles, giving the AAA studio some more flexibility and creative liberty, something that is often harder to procure when it comes to larger titles, such as Anthem.
