Red Bull has sponsored Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins, one of the most popular Fortnite Battle Royale streamers in the world, and will work together with him to create a brand new tournament.

The energy drink giant and Twitch star announced their partnership on Sunday. Ninja joins the ranks of Red Bull’s ever growing pool of esports stars, which includes Street Fighter legend Daigo Umehara. Super Smash Bros. Melee god William ‘Leffen’ Hjelte, and Hearthstone pro William ‘Amnesiac’ Barton.

In addition to the sponsorship, Ninja and Red Bull are teaming up to host a unique Fortnite tournament in Ninja’s hometown of Chicago on July 21st. Called Red Bull Rise Till Dawn, the event will see teams of two compete on the 99th floor of the Willis Tower from sunset to sunrise. Teams will earn points for their end of match placement and total number of eliminations, while eliminating Ninja and his partner will reward bonus points. The team with the highest point total by the end of the night will be crowned champions.

“Competing and streaming Fortnite all night at the most iconic building in Chicago, a city close to my heart, is a dream come true,” said Ninja in a press release. “Red Bull Rise Till Dawn will be unlike any other tournament and something people need to see and experience for themselves.”

If you were hoping to register for the tournament, you’re out of luck. Within minutes of opening the door to registration, the event sold out, showing just how rabid fans of Ninja can be.

As Fortnite esports continues to slowly grow, eyes will be on this event to see what it can bring the the competitive table.
