Special Edition Atari VCS Console Sells Out, Replaced with New Tribute Edition

The special edition, first-run, Indiegogo exclusive Atari VCS console is now officially sold out. Thankfully, due to the overwhelmingly positive response from fans, Atari has decided to introduce a second production run of the woodgrain Atari VCS variant console.

The new woodgrain VCS will be available for pre-order and is being called the Atari VCS Tribute Edition console. The tribute in the title refers to the fans of Atari and the legacy of the iconic Atari 2600 console, which heavily inspired the design of the original special edition VCS. The Tribute edition VCS will look very similar to the collector’s edition, minus it being numbered or part of the 6,000 first-run batch of units.

Atari first launched their Indiegogo campaign for the VCS in May of this year, and since then, has raised an outstanding, $2,918,458 of its $100,000 USD goal, with 10 days still left to go. Readers interested in finding out more regarding the Atari VCS are encouraged to check out the official Indiegogo campaign for the upcoming retro-inspired console.
