Update 4.5 for Fortnite has finally landed. The highly anticipated update has brought with it several new features with the biggest being, the Limited-Time Playground Mode.
Playground mode introduces a limited time event, in which players get access to the battle royale island without the worry of hostile enemy players, in other words, this new mode will give players a way to leisurely explore the map, try out different building techniques and just familiarize themselves with the large and expansive map.
Aside from Playground mode, content update 4.5 introduces a new dual pistol weapon, which deals an impressive 41-43 damage per hit, making them a powerful addition to the roster. Additionally, the Builder Pro controller layout has now been added to the Save the World mode within the game, making it easier than ever for players to build on the fly when facing off against hordes of AI enemies.
Speaking of building, Fortnite’s building mode has been tweaked, prioritizing building constructs closer to the player character when obstructed by debris or objects in the distance. Epic has also changed the appearance of removed objects, from clear to opaque, making it harder for players to peek through objects while building.
Finally, the concluding chapter of the Save the World mode has arrived, bringing with a new shield enemy called the Super Shielder. Players who complete the mode will be rewarded with their choice of a single Shadow Ops Hero to unlock.
