Shenmue 3 Celebrates $7 million Stretch Goal With Expanded Battle System 1

Shenmue 3 just reached its $7 million stretch goal on Kickstarter, which makes AI Battling and the Toy Capsule Box Set now available to backers.

The expanded battle system lets players automatically unleash the right technique against an enemy’s based on their distance and positioning.

Ys Net, the company behind Shenmue 3, reasoned that this system would help players who aren’t used to fighting games. It would also help players who want to be fully immersed in battle.

Shenmue 3’s Toy Capsule Box Set, which includes the Ryo, Shenhua, Chai and Forklift set as either an add-on or upgrade, is now available through Fangamer.

The Kickstarter announcement also answered pressing questions about Shenmue 3. For instance, it was revealed that there are three input fields for name credit rewards. The first is in English and it’s required, while the second and third input fields are optional.

“If you choose to enter your name in the second or third field in a language other than English, these optional names will take precedent,” the announcement read.

In addition, the Shenmue 3 Kickstarter gave backers a list of prohibited content for survey responses. These include the following:

  • Content that infringes upon copyrights, trademarks, or other rights
  • Content that engages in slander, discrimination, or violations of human rights
  • Content that is contrary to public decency
  • Content where religious or political activities are included
  • Content containing personal information

As for the  physical disc to play the game on either the PC or on PS4, Ys Net assured that the disc “will not be just a prompt for an internet download.”
