Square Enix and Blacknut Announce New Game Streaming Partnership 1

Square Enix and Blacknut just announced a new partnership, which allows Blacknut to distribute and stream some critically acclaimed titles.

“It’s great to see the growing momentum in cloud gaming as companies like Square Enix begin to support these new distribution initiatives,” Olivier Avaro, the CEO and founder of Blacknut, said. “We’re big fans of the titles Square Enix has produced and we’re excited to help those titles reach new audiences.”

In the upcoming months, the partnership will allow gamers to play mobile games like Deus Ex GO, Lara Croft GO, Hitman GO, and Hitman Sniper on various devices supported by Blacknut. These include the PC, Mac, Linux, the Amazon Fire TV, and the Android TV.

Blacknut was founded in 2016 by Avaro, and while its headquarters is in Rennes, the company has offices in San Francisco and Paris. Its service launched in France earlier this year.

Thanks to streaming technology, gamers will be able launch games on Blacknut without needing to download them. This will save gamers storage space on their device and game discovery costs.

“We are delighted to partner with Blacknut in sharing our critically acclaimed, GO trilogy and Hitman Sniper on its streaming service,” Patrick Naud, the studio head at Square Enix Montréal, said.

Naud said innovative and accessible ways to offer games to wide audiences is what Square Enix supports, and he is excited to have the company’s premium games in Blacknut.
