After Over Two Decades Dormant, Streets of Rage 4 is Coming 1

Lizardcube and DotEmu have announced Streets of Rage 4, over 20 years after the last game in the franchise launched in 1994.While no platforms have been confirmed, the debut animated trailer of the side-scrolling beat ’em up features returning protagonists Axel Stone and Blaze Fielding, both of whom were playable in all three previous games in the Streets of Rage series.

The game will feature hand-drawn art from the same team that animated last year’s Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap, and “builds upon the classic trilogy’s gameplay with new mechanics, a fresh story and a gauntlet of dangerous stages with a serious crime problem.”
