Newest Atlanta Esports Franchise Reveals Team Details For The 2019 Overwatch League 2

Atlanta’s newest esports franchise has just announced its team name, logo, and the colours of its Overwatch League team that’s set to compete early next year.

“We are excited to finally unveil the Atlanta Reign,” Paul Hamilton, the president and chief executive officer at Atlanta Esports Ventures, said. “We said from the beginning that we are building to compete. We chose a name that reflects that intention. We want to engage directly with Atlanta’s passionate esports community and the city as a whole.”

Atlanta Reign’s official colours consist of light grey, red and charcoal grey. As for the team’s logo, it features a red phoenix within a royal crest that references the Atlanta City seal. The team’s brand is further accentuated with the bold and red typeface. All put together, the logo represents “work ethic, reinvention, and excellence.”

Back in September, the team announced its coaching additions, which includes Brad “Sephy” Rajani as the head coach, Dimitri “Silence” Couturet as the assistant coach, and Cas “Casores” van Andel as the player development coach. Meanwhile, Dongmin “Dongmin” Jeong was announced as the translator and Danny “Danny” Mychakov as Atlanta Reign’s data analyst.

“Above all, we are looking forward to seeing what this team can accomplish,” Hamilton said. “We are building a strong organization with a singular focus on winning long term.”

The 2019 Overwatch League season is scheduled to kick off on February 14 next year.
