Gearbox Looks to be Unveiling Borderlands 3 at This Year’s PAX East

The Long-Awaited Sequel is (Probably) on its Way

Gearbox Looks to be Unveiling Borderlands 3 at This Year's PAX East 1

Today on Twitter, Gearbox, the developer behind the fan favourite Borderland series, teased what looks like undeniable proof of an upcoming Borderlands 2 sequel.

The tweet shows a date, March 28th, a location, Boston MA, and writing that says “Exit 3” in the top right corner. The road sign seems to point to the fact that a long-awaited sequel is on its way. On March 28, Gearbox will be hitting up the stages of PAX East 2019 at 2 p.m. ET, where the team will be releasing “never-before-seen reveals, exclusives, and surprises.”

“This is your opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at Gearbox Software and Gearbox Publishing, along with the latest news and updates from the makers of Borderlands, Battleborn, Brothers in Arms, and more!” reads the panel description. “We will have never-before-seen reveals, exclusives, and surprises, so don’t miss out!”

Back in 2015, the president of gearbox Randy Pitchford announced that the studio was looking for new talent to work on “the next Borderlands,” and just last year, Pitchford said that Gearbox was “working on the thing I think most of you guys want us to be working on.” Considering the game’s development hasn’t exactly been kept under wraps, it’s easy to see why fans should be excited about the PAX East teaser. Fans have been waiting a handful of years ever since Borderlands 2 came out back in 2012, and by the looks of things, it seems like they’re finally about to get the sequel they’ve been waiting for.

PAX East runs from March 28th to February 31st. Tickets are still available for the first day of the show and can be bought here.
