Pokémon Masters Pre-Registration Opens for Eager Trainers

Pokémon fans looking forward to Pokémon Masters can now pre-register for the upcoming mobile title on the Apple App Store and Google Play.

Pokémon Masters will feature an all-new 3-on-3 real-time battle system, more reminiscent of the core Pokémon games. Pokémon Masters takes place on the island of Pasio, a hub for Trainers and Masters alike, from all previous regions from within the expansive world of Pokémon. Unlike Pokémon Go, Masters promises to feature more characters from the core games and anime series — including characters such as Brock, Misty, Red and Blue, in addition to other notable Champions, such as Lance, Steven and Cynthia.

In order to unlock specific Pokémon within the game, players will have to unlock the corresponding trainer that matches that type. In other words, instead of catching Pokémon in the wild, trainers instead, must find teams to add to their roster — this can be done by playing the story mode, in-game rewards or via microtransactions, ala Fire Emblem Heroes.

Graphically, Pokémon Masters employs a cell-shaded aesthetic, similar to that of the 3DS Pokémon titles and the forthcoming Pokémon Sword and Shield games for the Nintendo Switch. Long-time series veterans of the of Pokémon can look forward to Masters — particularly those who want to see the appearance of some classic Pokémon characters, who for the first time, have been featured rendered and fully realized in 3D.

A preview version of Pokémon Masters will be available starting tomorrow in Singapore, followed shortly by Canada. Readers interested in registering for the game can do so by clicking here for Android and here for iOS.
