IT: Chapter Two Ends – In Three Hours

IT: Chapter Two Ends - In Three Hours 1

IT: Chapter Two is nearly upon us, and we’d best be prepared as the final showdown with Pennywise is almost 3 hours long.

Released in 2017, the first IT re-took the world by storm. It earned fairly high reviews from critics, currently sitting at an 85% on Rotten Tomatoes and made over $700 million worldwide. The sequel is out soon, and compared its already long predecessor (clocking in at 2 hours and 15 minutes), Chapter Two has grown to 2 hours and 45 minutes (almost as long as Avengers: Endgame)! Director Andy Muschietti told Digital Spy that the original cut was just about 4 hours long, so we can probably expect a healthy DVD/Blu-Ray feature set. Fortunately, he also assured everyone that no one who had seen the movie complained about that.

This second IT will loosely adapt the “present” portions of Stephen King’s classic novel, showing the adult Losers’ Club head back to Derry for a rematch with Pennywise. The first film wasn’t exactly the same as the book (which, if you’ve heard about it’s weirder content, makes a lot of sense), but we can probably expect some more monster clown fighting.

IT: Chapter Two releases in theatres on September 6th. We’ll have a review up for it around that time, and we’ll keep you posted on any further developments.
