Netflix Renews Big Mouth For Seasons 4, 5, and 6

Netflix has ordered three more seasons of Nick Kroll’s Big Mouth, an adult animated sitcom that delves into kids experiencing puberty.

In Big Mouth, Kroll voices Nick Birch, a late-bloomer who struggles with his sexual feelings and self-confidence. Kroll also voices numerous other characters, most notably Maurice the Hormone Monster, who fuels many of Nick’s insecurities. Former Saturday Night Live writer John Mulaney voices Nick’s friend Andrew Glouberman. The show’s supporting voice cast is comprised of numerous comedians, including Jason Mantzoukas, Jenny Slate, Maya Rudolph, Fred Armisen, Jordan Peele as the Ghost of Duke Ellington, and a pit bull named Featuring Ludacris, among other characters.

Big Mouth season 1 premiered on September 2017 and was followed by season 2 in March 2018. Last November, Netflix ordered a season 3. The team is very grateful for this new renewal, as it gives them more time and freedom to flesh out their characters. Regrettably, this comes a few days after the cancellation of fellow adult animated sitcom Tuca & Bertie, which many have found odd considering its near-universal praise.

Regardless, we can expect plenty more Big Mouth on Netflix in the future. I’m not a fan of the aesthetic, but I figure it works with what the show is going for. A date for the third season has not been announced, but a Valentine’s special is available in the meantime.
