The Outer Worlds will hit the Nintendo Switch Following Initial Launch 2

Obsidian’s Sci-fi themed RPG, The Outer Worlds, will also be hitting the Nintendo Switch, following the release on the already announced platforms, later this Fall.

First announced back during the 2018 Game Awards Show, Obsidian’s latest roleplaying game, The Outer Worlds, which was set for release on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, will now also be launching on Nintendo’s hybrid console.

For those unfamiliar with The Outer Worlds, the game, which is currently in development over at Obsidian, (most notably known for 2010’s Fallout: New Vegas), promises to introduce players to Obsidian’s take on a wholly original, sci-fi themed RPG. After waking up from a deep, decades-long sleep, players will discover that they’re now involved in a conspiracy that threatens to destroy the entirety of the Halcyon Colony. Players must uncover the truth and how they can awaken their fellow friends from their deep slumber while exploring a world filled with corrupt factions and dubious corporations.

Graphically, The Outer Worlds seems like an evolution of the design found within Fallout: New Vegas, spliced in with a healthy dose of Borderlands and No Man’s Sky. It will be interesting to see just how well The Outer Worlds translates on to the Nintendo Switch — hopefully, the brighter, more cartoony aesthetic, will allow the game to shine on Nintendo’s platform.

The Outer Worlds is expected to release on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on October 25, 2019. The Nintendo Switch version currently has no definitive release date.
